Sonnets of the Sea has been drawn from the comparison between the surge and retreat of a wave upon the shore with that of the literary form of advance and return in a sonnet.
In his work, Bruce Killeen tracks the movement of shadows across the sea and their ever-changing complexity. Bruce Killeen has exhibited at the Royal Academy in London, the British Institute Galleries, the Royal West of England Academy and at the Cheltenham Art Gallery.
He has won two Arts Council Awards and spent some years as Art Correspondent for the Guardian. He has recently had shows in Edinburgh but this is his first exhibition at An Tobar, showing work influenced by his move to an island studio. |
