Robin Harrowsmith's main work is woodturning. The wood used, where possible, is local, wind-fallen timber, but to ensure diversity in his work and to meet new challenges, a range of timber is also sourced from sawmills with a sound ecological & sustainable sourcing policy.

He produces a wide variety of pieces including small bud vases, fruit bowls, pot pourri bowls, platters & trinket boxes.

After gaining a degree in horticulture, Robin has worked around the UK in the horticultural industry. Whilst working as a head gardener Robin developed an interest in woodturning and was able to utilise wood from various gardens that otherwise would have gone to waste. Since moving to Mull in 2004, his interest has developed into a passion for woodturning. Entirely self-taught, he feels that he is not constrained by “the proper method” of the craft, thus allowing him to create his own technique and produce individual pieces in a unique style.
