The choir has performed at the National Cathedral, Washington D.C., St. Patrick's Cathedral and Carnegie Hall in New York City. They have premiered works by Adolphus Hailstork, Daniel Pinkham, John Dayve and numerous local and student composers.
Nancy Kirkland Klein, Director, a native Virginian, received her B.S. in Music from the University of Richmond, magna cum laude, in 1976. She earned her M.M.E. with an emphasis on Vocal Performance from Eastern Kentucky University in 1982, while teaching vocal and instrumental music in Central Kentucky. In 1986, she completed the Ph.D. in Music from New York University, representing her college as valedictory speaker. While at NYU, she served as the assistant conductor and acting director of the Choral Arts Department. She has conducted choirs at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, Lamb's Theater, Winter Garden Atrium at the World Trade Center and St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. She has performed as a soprano at the National Arts Club, Rockefeller Centre, and at Carnegie Hall under Robert Shaw. Internationally, Dr. Klein has conducted throughout Turkey, England, Ireland, Wales, and Nassau, Bahamas. |
