Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin is best known as a performer who has developed a uniquely Irish piano style; a composer who explores the diametrically opposed sounds of traditional and classical music; and an academic who was Lecturer in Music at University College Cork before, in 1994, taking up his current position as Chair of Music at the University of Limerick and founder of the Irish World Music Centre. His new album, Templum, has just been released.

The Scottish Ensemble performs throughout Scotland, the UK and abroad, with recent concerts at the St Magnus Festival in Orkney, the Cheltenham Festival, the City of London Festival and the BBC Proms. This project sees a quartet from the Ensemble joining Mícheál, Sandra Joyce (bodhran) and Niall Keegan (flute), touring the Scottish Highlands.
