John Clare is an artist, ecologist, graphic designer and writer whose work is largely inspired by the natural world. He works mainly in watercolour, photography and mixed media.

John trained and worked as an Architect and Graphic Designer before setting up an ecology consultancy in 1992.

His work is mainly naturalistic and has been used in a wide range of publications. He has written and illustrated a range of booklets on aspects of the wildlife, landscape and history of the Isle of Mull, and has just illustrated a book of poems by jan Such Pickard.

John is fascinated by the use of text interwoven into hi pictures and is using his own prose and the wonderful poetry of John Clare (1793-1864) in current work.
