Fiddle and Cello

Throughout Scotland, Iain Fraser is renowned both for his fine fiddling and for his inspired teaching - twin aspects of his passionate commitment to traditional Scottish fiddle music. His solo performing ranges from rich, sometimes melancholy airs that stir the soul through to rhythmic Strathspeys, Reels and Jigs; tunes that have been inspiring people to dance for three hundred years or more.
 

Christine Hanson is a cellist from Edmonton, Alberta who is eclectic in her musical explorations. While she has studied classically, Christine has established a reputation for herself in the pop-jazz and traditional music genres. She has a particular interest in the role of the cello as a rhythmic accompanying instrument in 18th century Scottish dance music. She is currently the leader of the Amati Trio and the Café Music Tango Trio in Edmonton.
