Course Overview The Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 came into force on January 1st 2005.
It will provide a right of access to all recorded information held by the Council, as well as other Scottish public authorities covered by the Act. Anyone, wherever they are based, will be able to make an access request to the Council or a Scottish public authority.
Course Description By the end of the training, individuals will:
Fully understand how Freedom of Information policy and procedures operate;
Fully understand the importance of adhering to Freedom of Information policies;
Be able to accurately assist and respond of Freedom of Information enquiries;
Correctly identify the right person when enquiries require a response or action from another person; and
Fully understand the implications of keeping information unnecessarily secret.
