Rogart Heritage Society (Heritage)
A Heritage society volunteer looks after the Sir John A Macdonald Memorial cairn, the first Prime Minister of Canada, at Dalmore, whose family came from Rogart. The Canadian flag is flown from Easter until the end of October. There is a ceremony for the raising and lowering each season. There is a garden site in the village administrated by volunteers. There will be information boards on the local area including walks and sites of interest. There is a seat which was given in memory of a local postman who lived in Rogart all his life. John MacDonald, a crofter, musician and local historian, has written a book. Title: Rogart. The story of a Sutherland Crofting Parish. Price £17.50, not including P& P.
